Danielle Ní Mhóra, Darren Waterkamp, James Harkin, Jason Curran and Eamonn Moore from Derry will jump for Gaza on March 12th Saturday!

Saturday 12th of March, 25 people will be flying in the Derry skies for the Irish Ship to Gaza. The sky diving jump will take place at the Wild Geese Sky diving school in Country Derry, the jumpers will being falling from the sky around 10AM. All of this is to raise money for the Irish Ship to Gaza sailing as part of the Freedom Flotilla 2 this May.

The Skydive event is organised by the Northern Irish Ship to Gaza groups, Derry Friends of Palestine and Friends of Palestine Belfast. We have people from Belfast, Antrim, Dublin and Derry jumping on the day. Those representing Derry in the jump are: Danielle Ní Mhóra, Darren Waterkamp, James Harkin, Jason Curran and Eamonn Moore, please give them your support, and if you are interested in helping to sponsor them please contact us here info @ (remove the spaces) we have the Irish ship secured but we still need to raise funds for fuel and the final payment, so we hope people in Derry will get on board and support the Derry 5 as they jump for Gaza!

And more big news, Iara Lee, a survivor from the Mavi Marmara and the only person to smuggle out video of the brutal attack which resulted in nine aid workers being murdered by Israeli commandos, is flying into Ireland to do the jump with us!! There will be an event in Derry on Friday the 11th March the night before the jump where Iara will screen her film on the Mavi Marmara using her video footage of the attack. This event will be held at Sandinos Friday 11th from 7:30 to 9:30PM, everyone welcome, admission free. Iara will be presenting the 5 Derry jumpers with a certificate and scarves from Palestine. Spectators are very welcome to come out and watch the jumpers, below are directions to the Wild Geese, you should arrive about 9AM to make sure you don’t miss the first one! The Sky-centre has full catering facilities.

Garvagh is situated on the A29, halfway between Coleraine and Maghera. Given below is just some directions on how to get to us from a few locations.

Directions From Belfast:

• On the M2 / M22, follow the signs for Ballymena and L/Derry.
• The M2 / M22 will end but continue on, as this is the A6, follow the signs for L/Derry.
• Take the by-pass around Toome, towards L/Derry.
• At the junction of the A31/A54 (Castledawson), take the 2nd exit off the roundabout towards L/Derry on the A6.
• Travel for 6 miles and turn right onto the Mullagh Road for Maghera.
• At the Tee-junction at the end of Mullagh Road turn left and go into Maghera town centre.
• In Maghera town centre, turn right at the Bank/Hotel, and follow the signs for Coleraine.
• Travel for 10 miles on the A29 until you reach Garvagh.
• In Garvagh, at the crossroad, turn right for Kilrea – B64.
• Go for 200m and turn left (opposite O’Connell’s garage), onto Station Road.
• Travel for 2 miles and the Sky-centre will be on the left.

Directions From Derry:

• Follow the signs for Limavady / Coleraine on the A2.
• Take the by-pass around Limavady.
• 1 mile from Limavady turn right onto the B66 (Ringsend Road) for Garvagh.
• Go for 6.5 miles to Ringsend.
• At Ringsend turn right onto the B66 for Garvagh (Boleran Road).
• At the end of this road turn left at the Tee-junction and go into Garvagh.
• In Garvagh go straight across at the cross-roads, for Kilrea – B64.
• Go 200m and turn left (opposite O’Connell’s garage), onto Station Road.
• Travel for 2 miles and the Sky-centre will be on the left.
